MBTI Intuitive Types: Here Are a List of Some Tv Shows & Novels You Should Check Out!

Note: These are just based off of my own personal opinion. The shows and novels I’ve picked out specifically for each type I believe will truly help them either grow / develop / learn / see things from a different perspective (especially based off of the MBTI Type of the author). Or at the very least intrigue you due to the content / message / themes involved. These may or may not seem obvious, but also suggest you get into any of the mentioned here as well.
Let’s get started!
INTJ: 1)Ni | 2)Te | 3)Fi | 4)Se
  • TV Show: ”Black Mirror”: An insightful dystopian look towards the potential malevolent and morally/ethically questionable / harmful uses and abuses of science and technology via corporations and governments and their effect(s) on culture / society / and humanity at large.
  • Novel: ”Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley-[ENFP]: ”In the future, most of humanity and the environment people live in has been tailored to make everyone happy. There are five castes of people (Alphas through Epsilons), divided further into sub-castes ranging from the leader Alpha Pluses down through the barely-human grunt Epsilon-Minus Semi-Morons. Everyone is grown in jars and their general roles in society planned before "birth". The population is pacified with virtual reality and the pleasure drug soma. Human needs are satisfied—by biological engineering when necessary; orgies are the norm; and anything that might possibly cause dissatisfaction is simply left out of society.”
ENTJ: 1)Te | 2)Ni | 3)Se | 4)Fi
INTP: 1)Ti | 2)Ne | 3)Si | 4)Fi
  • TV Show: ”Mr Robot” | ”The series follows Elliot Alderson, a computer programmer who leads a double life as a hacker carrying out digital vigilantism. After discovering the existence of a secretive hacker group known as fsociety, Elliot gets recruited by their mysterious leader, Mr. Robot, and joins an online war against E Corp, a Mega-Corp with whom Elliot has a personal grudge. He soon learns, however, that the economic revolution he's trying to spearhead may be larger than he ever imagined, and that other forces could be pulling the strings.”
  • Novel: ”The Art of Being” by Erich Fromm-[ENFJ] or ”The Diamond Age” by Neal Stephenson-[INTP]
    • The Art of Being: “* Some of these chapters are contained in the present volume. They deal entirely with the "steps toward being" that the individual can take in order to learn the Art of Being. How can we realize and actualize Love, Reason, and meaningful, productive work? Fromm here offers the Art of Being, a way of living based on authentic self-awareness that comes only through honest self-analysis. Wisely, he warns of the pitfalls of our attaining enlightenment without effort, or believing that life can be lived without pain. The tantalizing "spiritual smorgasbord" offered by our consumer-oriented world, Fromm maintains, only feeds our illusions of "easy awareness." Confronting the psycho-Gurus who preach these shortcuts to enlightenment, Fromm offers another way to self-awareness and well-being, one based on psychoanalysis and self-awareness through meditation. If the Art of Being - the art of functioning as a whole person - can be considered the supreme goal of life, a breakthrough occurs when we move from narcissistic selfishness and egotism - from having - to psychological and spiritual happiness - being. The Art of Being will be one of the most important works in the Fromm canon for years to come”*

  • The Diamond Age: “* about a world where nanotechnology has become ubiquitous and society has fractured along subcultural lines. Wait, no: it's about the role of human interaction in childrearing, as seen through the lens of an advanced educational simulation — something like an infinitely more sophisticated Oregon Trail game. No, that's not it either: it's about the influence of culture upon psychological development. Or is it about the breakdown of hierarchical social structures in the face of technological empowerment, or about that certain je ne sais quoi that separates souls from simulations? Needless to say, it's got layers.*”

  • TV Show: ”Rick & Morty” | “* This bizarre series centers around the misadventures of Morty Smith, a kind-hearted yet troubled young high school student, and Rick Sanchez, Morty's snarky, alcoholic Mad Scientist grandfather (both voiced by Justin Roiland). Rick constantly pulls Morty and his family out of their normal lives to go on sci-fi acid trip adventures across the multiverse and help him carry out insane science experiments. Morty's parents think of Rick as a negative influence on their son, but they keep Rick around the house anyway just as long as he sort of keeps Morty in school. Taking themes on Existentialism, Absurdism, and Nihilism, this series takes a irreverent yet yearning look at the human condition.*”
  • Novel: ”Crime & Punishment” or ”Notes From The Underground” by Fyodor Dostoyevsky-[INFJ]
    • “Crime & Punishment”: A moody university student named Raskolnikov murders an old moneylender who has been exploiting her clients, but accidentally also kills someone else. He struggles with the ramifications of his actions through the novel. While ruminating over his crime, he deals with visiting family, a nosy friend who falls in love with his engaged sister, an implacable police detective named Porfiry who plays mindgames with him, the all-too-obvious faults in his own Übermensch theories, and his budding relationship with a prostitute and her poor family
  • Notes From The Underground: Notes from Underground is an 1864 novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky about an unnamed social outcast living in St. Petersburg. Depressed by the city and his own inadequacy, this mysterious Underground Man begins to write a rambling, philosophical journal — the Notes from Underground. The novel's divided into two parts: first, the notes ("Underground"), and second, an account of the humiliating events which led to his self-imposed seclusion ("Apropos to Wet Snow"). Deals with themes of existentialism (it is considered one of the first existentialist novels), free will, and the modern disconnect from others.
INFJ: 1)Ni | 2)Fe | 3)Ti | 4)Se
  • TV Show: ”Bojack Horseman” | * The series is set in a world where Funny Animals coexist with humans, and the titular BoJack Horseman previously starred in a popular sitcom in The '90s called Horsin' Around. Now a washed-up actor, BoJack navigates a return to the Hollywoo (sic) limelight (and confronts his personal demons) with the help of his deadbeat roommate, Todd Chavez, his agent and on-again-off-again girlfriend, Princess Carolyn, his sitcom frenemy Mr. Peanutbutter, and his memoir ghostwriter Diane Nguyen. Ruthlessly deconstructs the Western Adult Animated Sitcom & deals with themes of chronic loneliness , addiction, acceptance, existentialism, and friendship.*
  • Novel: ”Infinite Jest” by David Foster Wallace-[ENTP] | Note: Be warned, this book WILL challenge you. | Infinite Jest takes place in the not-too-distant future, around the Enfield Tennis Academy and the neighboring Ennet House Drug and Alcohol Recovery House in suburban Boston. There are roughly four narrative threads through the novel: 1.) The lives of the students training and studying at Enfield, founded by auteur James O. "Himself" Incandenza, mother Avril "Moms" Incandenza and Avril's adopted brother Charles "C.T." Tavis. 2.) Various Boston residents such as Don Gately and Joelle Van Dyne who hit rock bottom with their drug and alcohol addictions and turn to Ennet House as well as AA and NA meetings in order to stay on the wagon. 3.) The Organization of North American Nations, or O.N.A.N and a group of radical Québécois separatists known as Les Assassins des Fauteuils Rollents' (The Wheelchair Assassins) efforts to seek a film called Infinite Jest, directed by James O. Incandenza and rumored to be so absorbing that anyone who sees loses all other interests and eventually dies. Advertisement: 4.) The history of the Incandenzas, with a focus on the youngest son Hal. On top of all that, the novel deals with issues like the nature of the self, family, emptiness and absence, addiction and recovery, and the minutia of tennis, there's just no way to adequately summarize this massively complex novel here. With nearly 100 pages of end notes, this may be one of the only novels for which you will need to use two bookmarks simultaneously.
ENFJ: 1)Fe | 2)Ni | 3)Se | 4)Ti
  • TV Show: ”The Good Place” | * After being killed by an oncoming truck, Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell) wakes up in an unfamiliar and idyllic world. She is greeted by Michael (Ted Danson), the "architect" of this world, who tells her that as a reward for her exceptionally virtuous life, she will now spend eternity within "The Good Place" along with the rest of the best of the best of humanity. There's only one problem: Eleanor is not a nice person at all. She's been confused with someone else. Eleanor confides in her system-designated "perfect soulmate" Chidi Anagonye (William Jackson Harper), a neurotic ethics and moral philosophy professor, and emotionally blackmails him into teaching her to become a good person who deserves to stay in The Good Place; lest her rottenness be discovered, which would result in her being tortured for eternity in "The Bad Place".*
  • Novel: ”1984” by George Orwell-[INFP] or ”The Trial” by Franz Kafka-[INFP]
    • 1984: The book is set in London, the chief city of Airstrip One and part of the superpower of Oceania. Life sucks. Oceania is ruled by the totalitarian regime of "the Party", personified by the omnipresent figure of "Big Brother". Standards of living are low due to the Forever War Oceania is engaged in alongside their ally Eurasia against Eastasia (or is it the other way around?). Sex is banned for all Party members except for procreation purposes. Media, entertainment, and art are all heavily controlled and censored by the Party. And most importantly, Sinister Surveillance is omnipresent: nearly every space has some sort of monitoring device and it’s impossible to tell whether you are being watched or listened to at any time. The novel’s protagonist is Winston Smith, a member of the middle-class "Outer Party" who lives a dismal existence working for the Party's Propaganda Machine, secretly nursing thoughts of rebellion. Until one day, a chance encounter with a woman might prompt him to do something about it https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Literature/NineteenEightyFour
  • The Trial: * Josef K. (Anthony Perkins, two years removed from his Star-Making Role in Psycho) is a white-collar worker in some nameless, vaguely European location. He awakes one day to find two ominous police officers—or at least they might be police officers, though they never show ID—in his room. The men, without introducing themselves or explaining why they're present in Josef's apartment, immediately begin interrogating him. Eventually they reveal that he is under arrest, although they do not tell him on what charge. Nor do they take him to any police station, instead allowing him to roam about freely, until one evening they take him from the audience at an opera and drag him to a tribunal.*
INFP: 1)Fi | 2)Ne | 3)Si | 4)Te
  • TV Show: ”Psycho-Pass” | * In the 22nd century, Japan is tightly governed by the Sibyl System and their enforcers, the Public Safety Bureau. The Sibyl System maintains order by using advanced technology to instantaneously analyse a person's psychological profile and calculate the likelihood that person will commit a crime. Factors such as emotional state, mental health, stress levels and criminal desire are quantified into a single number known as a "Psycho-Pass"; if this number exceeds an acceptable threshold, the target is judged a threat and sentenced to mandatory therapy. In the most extreme cases, where the Psycho-Pass is so high that rehabilitation is deemed impossible, the Sibyl System orders immediate execution. Hunting down those deemed a threat to society is the aforementioned Public Safety Bureau, which operates through teams of two detective types: Enforcers, latent criminals whose Psycho-Pass has exceeded the acceptable level but who are called on to assist; and Inspectors, who supervise the Enforcers to make sure they follow procedure and don't escape. Called in on difficult and extreme cases, Bureau officers are equipped with Dominators, which allow the wielder to scan a target's Psycho-Pass and, if authorized, fire non-lethal or lethal rounds depending on the reading. Of course, being a social science-fiction plot, a central theme is whether or not the Sibyl System and the Bureau are worth their cost.*
  • Novel: ”The Ethics of Ambiguity” by Simone de Beauvoir-[INFJ] or ”Nausea” by Jean-Paul Sartre-[INTJ]
    • Ethics of Ambiguity: * In this classic introduction to existentialist thought, French philosopher Simone de Beauvoir’s The Ethics of Ambiguity simultaneously pays homage to and grapples with her French contemporaries, philosophers Jean-Paul Sartre and Maurice Merleau-Ponty, by arguing that the freedoms in existentialism carry with them certain ethical responsibilities. De Beauvoir outlines a series of “ways of being” (the adventurer, the passionate person, the lover, the artist, and the intellectual), each of which overcomes the former’s deficiencies, and therefore can live up to the responsibilities of freedom. Ultimately, de Beauvoir argues that in order to achieve true freedom, one must battle against the choices and activities of those who suppress it. The Ethics of Ambiguity is the book that launched Simone de Beauvoir’s feminist and existential philosophy. It remains a concise yet thorough examination of existence and what it means to be human. *
    • Nausea: * Nausea is the story of Antoine Roquentin, a French writer who is horrified at his own existence. In impressionistic, diary form he ruthlessly catalogues his every feeling and sensation about the world and people around him. His thoughts culminate in a pervasive, overpowering feeling of nausea which "spread at the bottom of the viscous puddle, at the bottom of our time, the time of purple suspenders and broken chair seats; it is made of wide, soft instants, spreading at the edge, like an oil stain." Roquentin's efforts to try and come to terms with his life, his philosophical and psychological struggles, give Sartre the opportunity to dramatize the tenets of his Existentialist creed.*
ENFP: 1)Ne | 2)Fi | 3)Te | 4)Si
  • TV Show: ”One Punch Man” | * A terrible monster suddenly attacks Z-City without warning. Many innocents are killed instantly, and more continue to be wiped out by the terrifying fiend with each passing minute. But when all seems lost, a lone saviour appears and destroys the monster with a single punch. Who is this mysterious protector? He is... Saitama is an unemployed Salaryman turned part-time Superhero who has become so powerful he can defeat any adversary with a single punch. He also happens to be extremely depressed about this, as it means he has no more challenges left in his life. But despite that fact, Saitama continues to follow his (now utterly monotonous) hero hobby, encountering Mutants, Cyborgs, Ninjas, Humanoid Aliens, Supernatural Martial Arts masters, Psychics, corrupt Super Teams, Kaiju, Sea Monsters and just about everything else you can imagine — all the while hoping that, someday, one of them might put up a fight that lasts longer than their Motive Rant.*
  • Novel: ”Being & Nothingness” by Jean-Paul Sartre-[INTJ] | While a prisoner of war in 1940 and 1941, Sartre read Martin Heidegger's Being and Time (1927), which uses the method of Husserlian phenomenology as a lens for examining ontology. Sartre attributed the course of his own philosophical inquiries to his exposure to this work. Though influenced by Heidegger, Sartre was profoundly skeptical of any measure by which humanity could achieve a kind of personal state of fulfillment comparable to the hypothetical Heideggerian "re-encounter with Being". In Sartre's account, man is a creature haunted by a vision of "completion" (what Sartre calls the ens causa sui, meaning literally "a being that causes itself"), which many religions and philosophers identify as God. Born into the material reality of one's body, in a material universe, one finds oneself inserted into being. In accordance with Husserl's notion that consciousness can only exist as consciousness of something, Sartre develops the idea that there can be no form of self that is "hidden" inside consciousness. On these grounds, Sartre goes on to offer a philosophical critique of Sigmund Freud's theories, based on the claim that consciousness is essentially self-conscious. In the introduction, Sartre sketches his own theory of consciousness, being, and phenomena through criticism of both earlier phenomenologists (most notably Husserl and Heidegger) as well as idealists, rationalists, and empiricists. According to him, one of the major achievements of modern philosophy is phenomenology because it disproved the kinds of dualism that set the existent up as having a "hidden" nature (such as Immanuel Kant's noumenon); Phenomenology has removed "the illusion of worlds behind the scene". Based on an examination of the nature of phenomena, he describes the nature of two types of being, being-in-itself (the being of things) and being-for-itself. While being-in-itself is something that can only be approximated by human being, being-for-itself is the being of consciousness.

[Fantasy World Epsilon 30-10] - 10.3 Gambolling Glamour Girl

Kay and Kel had been holding out, keeping her tied up with all those corpses in his freezer while they practised magic in secret.
Why hadn’t her meta-mind notified her? Was it hoarding the feeds? Why the sly dogs the lot of them!
Someone was getting punished after all this, and Rilian decided it would be Kel. But that would come later; currently, there was a game of tag to play.
She moved through the streets masked. It was so tempting to take it off; she wanted to see their reactions. That first glimpse of her was a priceless expression she relished: something Kel had also deprived her of. He showed her irritation, pain, glee, and impassivity, never awe.
As if he did not look up, or down on her; Instead, he gazed through, neither aggressive nor placating. If only he knew how much like an Alpha that was. Honest pleasure, he reserved for the act of creation. Rilian stole glances when he contemplated the many designs floating about in his skull. God, he turns me on.
Focus Rilian. Her priority was the task at hand. Perhaps she could expend some frustration in exertion now, and shower later. She picked up the pace to a brisk jog and aimed to corner Red 2. Her HUD was directly piped to the visual cortex, no need for convoluted low tech optics. Even so, it was a rather primitive one. She casually glanced at the overlay while picking up speed.
Of the many skills and muscle memory grafted into her body, the art of moving and acrobatics was naturally one of them. Naming conventions across the multiverse varied, but the principles were the same, and she had the best athletic body money could buy. Actually, that wasn’t true; Alphas didn’t trade in material goods but in favours, and Cousin Leren’s art had not slipped.
Rilian felt her Olympic limbs flex as they warmed from exertion swiftly reaching peak performance.
Her hood pulled back in the rush of air, revealing the dull lustre of her helm and faceplate with its multiple articulated metal plates.
She made it bob and jostle in sync, so it did not jar on her head as she ran. The metal flex-tube limbs clamped to her vest supported it further. In all, solids in contact with her body—metals in particular—felt like a second skin. A dull tactile sense even permeated what she imbued. Extended kinesthetics were the domain of transhuman worlds and up, but nothing near this visceral.
She barely breathed harder as streamlined metabolics burned through tweaked energy stores, pumping ample oxygen and glucose to her optimised muscle fibres.
The intercept path led around the periphery of the market, so streets were less crowded compared to Kay’s feed. She angled to meet up with Red 2 as it came out from the block ahead of her.
An idle horse tied to a cart obstructed the road. Bursting to a mild sprint, Rilian dove and vaulted off its rump, making a casual twist as she flew through the air and landed without so much as a pause.
People’s shouts and guffaws trailed behind her as she reviewed footage from the cam flies.
The jump was alright; it could go on the highlight reel perhaps. Rilian had been looking for Kel since she released the micro-drones, with no luck as of yet. More interference from her cloud, possibly? Had Kel done something else he would need to pay for? Likely a bit of both; he was also furthest from her as they herded the suspect. The cameras would find him soon enough.
She rounded a bend and felt her shoes and their steel runner spikes dig into the ground; they were an extension of her. Aura soaked the paving and moss ridden dirt with each stride giving her traction akin to cold welding as she adhered and detached.
She never slipped or skidded—unless she wanted to—and could dart through the bystanders like a printer head across paper. Twisting and turning; a wall run here, or a flip for some spice. There had not been a place to stretch her legs since birth, so the exhilaration was ecstatic as she ran and laughed.
Such amusements were over all too soon as she caught sight of the chased hare.
“Red 2 is the target. Over,” she said. Cam flies could have flown ahead of course, but where is the fun in that. No, they were for production value only, she refused to tarnish this art piece with shortcuts. Besides, the goal was for the runner to see them, not the other way around.
“Roger, Red 1 is confirmed to be a kid,” said Kel. “Proceeding to Red 2. Over.”
The suspect attempted to blend into the crowd, hood up again and an Airbow held down at his side its extended wooden pipe identifying the type. He hurried between the people but not enough to jostle or draw attention.
Misty dew-like drizzle began falling on everything, a common occurrence in Elgelica. The natural climate of England was further exacerbated by the terraformed super forest in its midst.
The bowman had yet to spot her, as she too blended into the crowd and advanced on him deftly. The smooth-worn and slick paving might have posed a slipping hazard were she not a Solid Mage. Her spiked soles pierced through the thin aquaplane and adhered like carpet.
“Ril, you have a backup tag? Over.”
“Why is everyone ‘over’?” asked Kay.
A wry chuckle was Rilian’s only response.
Kel was silent.
“Yes Kel, I have one in hand. I’ll make sure to give a proper greeting! Over.” She stealthily sidled close to the diminutive elf and with a substantial wind-up gave the hardest ass slap she could manage.
It contained considerable kinetic force and sent the elf sprawling across the wet stones. He yipped with the stinging pain on impact, and his bow flew from his hands and clattered away.
Other folks just stood about transfixed with the bizarre sight. Who slapped butts that hard in public after all. I do. Skipping gaily to the bow, Rilian scooped it up. Her first souvenir! There was a wall in medical she cleared just for the purpose.
“Did you just spank our poor perp?!” Kel was incredulous. “Over!”
“You be quiet, young Gamma. Yours will come later.” She turned to the elf as he got to his feet. She lifted her faceplate, and a cam fly captured the swirling glow of her pink and blue eyes in the deep shade. “Light-Finger sends his regards, little man.”
Wonder and terror imprinted the assassin’s expression. Now that was a face she could relish! The aghast elf scrambled to his feet and ran for his life.
“This is no time for selfies! I can see you doing bliksemse poses in the street!”
Just where was he? His ping was almost on top of her. She glanced around. “The RF tag is properly secured. Over.”
“Until he fucken sits, you mean!” She heard his voice above.
That devious man! He was tracking across the bridges and walkways on the second level. One of the microdrones climbed to focus on him.
“There you are, my naughty little Diver!”
“Can someone please explain what ‘over’ means!” piped Kay.
Quirky Kay, that was going on the highlight reel too. Rilian didn’t bother following the target anymore.
“Go Kel! Show us what you’ve got.” She pumped the air.
“Fucking help damn it!” She watched him run across a rope bridge in the street ahead.
“But my legs are sooo tired! Meet you at the rendezvous.” Her voice was treacle. The faceplate flapped shut, and Rilian headed for the spire with her trophy.
“Donnerse fok Ril, you owe me two massages you hear! Two!”
Trading more favours was he? She would make an Alpha out of him yet. Would I?! Is that what she wanted?
There was much to think on. Delightful and debauched fantasies played across Rilian’s cognition as she skipped away.

Comments & Calculations

As alluded, 30-10 Rilian is a distinct conscious entity to her Alpha existence. Varying degrees of connectivity to the group-mind Rilian could and do exist simultaneously, with the Ril we meet being one of the more isolated versions. She shares an existential identity with her meta-mind while maintaining her own autonomy. 30-10 Rilian could live and die a full life on her own terms, knowing those memories and identity will be preserved. In short, her afterlife is assured while the meta-mind benefits from inexhaustible permutations on existence and experience. This segues well—hopefully—into the values and desires we see them express.
