SAFE TRADING GUIDELINES: PLEASE READ THIS EVEN IF WE HAVE TRADED BEFORE. STEAM KEYS ARE SAFER TO TRADE.

I am taking extra precautions to ensure nobody's accounts or games are put into jeopardy. I have been doing this for a while now but I want to expand precautionary measures to make sure trading stays safe for everyone. I prefer receiving and providing steam keys. You must let me know what region you are in before we initiate the trade. Game trading is against Humble TOS so always be aware of that and trade with other users who you know are looking out for your interests as well.
DO NOT LINK YOUR STEAM PROFILE TO YOUR HUMBLE ACCOUNT
Also, as always, be wary of anyone impersonating me in pms or on Steam. I will generally not add you on Steam unless we come to agreement, so make sure you are only taking to my reddit username or my steam profile, which can be found here. Anyone else is a scammer
Also if i change my offer on a bundle, and we traded in the past day or two at a lower price, remind me and i can send the difference in a future trade.
  • I have a ton of games to trade, mostly from past bundles, but also many from retail purchases I made from the humble store, fanatical and other retailers. I also offer PayPal (US region but I can usually cover fees) , giftcards or I can purchase games on Steam or any other storefront, to gift directly to you on demand. Please note, I do not sell my games for paypal, unless specifically noted. You can find the list of games I have available here
  • I have alot of trading rep you can find here as well on my steam profile here. Feel free to pm or add me to discuss anything, just comment first.
  • I guarantee everything I trade. Everything has either been purchased directly by me, or sent to me as a gift link. If there is ever any issue, I will work with you to resolve it or get you a new game.
  • I am mostly looking for steam keys from humble bundles and steam gifts, but I usually accept game keys from other places too, depending on where they are from and your reputation.

What are you looking to do?

Trade your games for my games.

I will always be up for trading games. You can find the list of games I have available here. Games listed here are separated by tiers. Please note that tiers do not always denote value, so I may not simply swap games just because they are in the same tier. Many top tier games, ones that cost $30-60, will require many humble games in return most likely, it all depends on the offer. I have most of the games i am buying below available to trade as well.
Please go to my link above for a complete list of games I have on hand. Hey Boomer! Tired about losing with Jund? How about losing with 5C Jund?

Introduction

Hey, 2020, you suck, for a number of reasons. But one of them is that we get laughed everytime we play Jund: hey it's not 2015 anymore, Liliana of the Veil? play a good deck!, Money Pile shits on you and it's even more expensive than your foiled japanese Boomer Midrange, your life has no meaning anymore, Tarmogoyf, huh? How about blocking it with my Scourge of the Skyclaves?
Yeah, we all know about these things. Powercreep is real and while Jund is not that bad as the hivemind wants to make it look, it's also not the go-to midrange deck anymore. We play Jund because we love Jund, so in this primer I don't want to reivent the wheel: this is a for fun deck that happens to be super expensive, not something that's going to spike the next Modern Challenge.

Why should I play this deck?

YOU SHOULDN'T. Really, if you want to win you shouldn't play this deck. Hey but I play Jund, yeah, you're going to win more with Jund or any 3 color Black-based deck than with this.
If you're still there, you are here for the LULZ, for the fun part. This is ModernMagic and not spikes , so playing jank is allowed. The motto of 5C Jund is the classic (oh, classics, boomers love classics, amIright?): it's not about winning, it's about sending a message.

Decklist and card choices

Here you go, the decklist of 5C Jund aka "Boomer Niv-Mizzet-less Niv-Mizzet" aka "Tried to make my own Money Pile. Goes Wrong": https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/3556314#online
Let's talk about a bit about card choices.

Manabase

  • 4x Verdant Catacombs: As in Jund, best fetchland available. Grabs all shocklands and both or basics.
  • 2x Bloodstained Mire, 2x Wooded Foothills, 2x Polluted Delta: I'm sure that you want 6 more fetchlands to grab shocks consistenly, but I'm not sure if this is the right split. All these fetchlands grab you 5 shocklands and a basic, giving access to all colors but not all color combinations. Some math and some reps would lead to a better fetchland distribution but we are not here to take things seriously: the manabase is going to suck anyway.
  • 1x Overgrown Tomb, 1x Blood Crypt, 1x Stomping Ground, 1x Godless Shrine, 1x Watery Grave, 1x Temple Garden, 1x Breeding Pool: 1x of each of these shocks. No Steam Vents nor Sacred Foundry because splashing is easier in combination of green and black since we usually go for these colors first. No Hallowed Fountain because it's a Wastes for any Jund card.
  • 3x Blackcleave Cliffs: We're still in Jund, so having access to turn 1 BR is essential to cast our discard, removal and early threats.
  • 1x Nurturing Peatland, 1x Raging Ravine: With Wrenn and Six, the first copy of any utility land is much better than it would be without them. We want a draw engine card and a manland, so that's it.
  • 1x Swamp, 1x Forest: Sometimes you need to fetch for the basic and just sit behind a Tarmogoyf to control the board and preserve your life total. Also Path to Exile and Field of Ruin exist. No, don't worry about Blood Moon, you're going to lose against it anyway.

Creatures

  • 4x Tarmogoyf: Solid beater, always a 4x in Jund. Nothing much to add.
  • 4x Stoneforge Mystic: The reason to splash white. Having 8 2cmc threats is great. She provides card advantage and a bit of utility.
  • 3x Snapcaster Mage: And the reason to splash blue. While Snappy doesn't really get along Liliana, it's still quite decent to reuse a removal spell or discard spell. Also, flashbacking Kolaghan's Command, blocking with Snappy and grabbing back him is something that every Magic player should experiment once in a lifetime. Thanks to the equipments, the body can be quite relevant on applying pressure, so you shouldn't prioritize chumpblocking. Pro tip: Hold a fetchland on the battlefield and when your opponent thinks you're playing a janky 4C Jund you can grab your blue source, cast Snap+Bolt and make them even more confused.

Planeswalkers and Equipment

  • 3x Liliana of the Veil: The only double pip card in all our 75. She's still a strong engine that provides a lot of versatility. I don't even know why I'm explaining traditional Jund card choices, honestly.
  • 3x Wrenn and Six: Apart from the reasons to play it in Jund (consistent land-drops, keepable 2-land hands, ping, game-ending threat, recurring utility lands), W&6 is the reason that the manabase sucks a lot less than it should. Being able to recur a fetchland provides color fixing and we can get access quickly to all of our colors.
  • 1x Batterskull: The go-to threat for Stoneforge Mystic. Such a strong card to stall aggro and to race alongside Goyf.
  • 1x Sword of Fire and Ice: You could try Feast and Famine in its place, but the card advantage engine + removal for small creatures + increased clock is more relevant than what F&F provides: we already have plenty of discard and we don't really have many cards good at using all the mana generated with F&F.

Instants and sorceries

  • 4x Inquisition of Kozilek, 2x Thoughtseize: So... yeah, Jund. Something something Inquisition is pain-free and has a lot of targets. Something something Primeval Titan, Omnath, Gifts Ungiven (Storm in 2020? Seriously this redditor is such a boomer), Collected Company. Next.
  • 4x Lightning Bolt, 2x Fatal Push: I believe this should be the correct split in Jund despite Fatal Push being so good right now against Scourge and other threats. Jund (and this 5C) wants to be the aggresor in a lot of matchups and Bolt helps you with that. Also kills problematic Walkers and in this version we have the added benefit of having Snapcaster Mage to have more reach for lethal.
  • 2x Abrupt Decay, 1x Assassin's Trophy: Could be the opposite split. Just choose your way to lose against Veil of Summer, but you need some permanent removal. Although I almost always run 1x Maelstrom Pulse in my Jund lists, with Snapcaster Mage the instant speed and the 2cmc cost of Decay and Trophy are much more relevant.
  • 2x Kolaghan's Command: You can even destroy your own Batterskull in response to an opposing Nature's Claim to deny them the lifegain! Yeah, you could also bounce it back for the same cost but we are here to send a message. K'Command is such a good card, provides a lot of utility and is even better with Snapcaster Mage. EDIT: the Nature's Claim joke is wrong because I don't read cards properly, I'll keep it there to show how good at this game I am.

Sideboard

So, for the sideboard, I'm going to skip the traditional Jund cards because we all know that Ashiok is for Titan and graveyard decks, PlagueMan against tribals and dorks, Cleansing Wildfire against lands matter decks and Brutality to get wrecked by a single Prowess trigger. So what do we get from white and blue?
  • 2x Kaya's Guile: When I played this in my Eldrazi and Taxes sideboard, I thought this card sucked. I played it with Entwine and it did nothing . But in a Midrange shell it does a bit of everything: the edict effect is relevant, the graveyard hate is relevant, a bit of lifegain + chump is good against Burn and Prowess. It's not K'Command but it's quite decent.
  • 3x Aether Gust: Counterspells don't get along proactive strategies that want to +1 with Liliana of the Veil, but Aether Gust being able to be casted proactively allows it to make the cut. This is such a good card, really. Good in the pseudo-mirror, nuts against Gruul, awesome against Titan and good enough against Burn/Prowess. Also a safety valve against Blood Moon (float mana in response) if you combine it with Assassin's Trophy, Ashiok or instant speed discard to get rid of their topdeck in the next turn.
  • 1x Kaya, Orzhov Usurper: I couldn't find a place in the mainboard for her but it's quite good. Her +1 is a less mana intensive Scavenging Ooze effect and her -1 has a lot of targets. And it's also a game-ending threat, which is a great addition to an utility engine.
  • 1x The Royal Scions: I hate this card in Grixis Shadow and I don't even think it's correct to play it here (I mean, it's not even correct to play this deck at all), but I wanted another utility engine and for the spice of adding another blue card I added this. The loot +1 provides synergy with W&6, Snappy and Goyf, and the +2 trample is great with our huge beaters. Also, the ultimate is also a game-ending threat that our opponent has to avoid. In all seriousness, this could be Klothys, Huntmaster or Tireless Tracker, but The Royal Scions is such a strong and fun card.

Cuts from traditional Jund

While this deck is a complete jank and it's certainly not optimal, I tried to make it as good as possible while keeping the flavour, so this is why these cards didn't make the cut.
  • Scavenging Ooze, Seasoned Pyromancer, Kroxa: They are too color intensive. You're not going to have enough green to abuse Scooze, double red from SPyro is a bit awkward and we want to hold Snapcaster Mage and equipments in our hand so discard is not as desirable. As for Kroxa, apart from the RRBB cost, it's fighting for resources with Snapcaster Mage, so it's not the right shell for it.
  • Bloodbraid Elf: Snapcaster Mage and being a bit more reactive than a normal Jund shell make her cascades a bit awkward. Cascading into SFM is also a bit meh since you're not gaining a lot of tempo of a 4-drop grabbing a 3-drop and cascading into Snappy on curve is a disaster.
  • Tireless Tracker: I think I'm the only Jund player that still plays Tracker. She's (is a she, right?) a-we-some and she won me so many games that I'm so far from cutting her. The only reason that she's not in here is because I couldn't find room with so many jank. If you play traditional Jund, please play her.
  • Lurrus of the Dream Den: We are heavy on 3-drops, we don't have room for Mishra's Bauble, we are already soft to GY hate, recurring Stoneforge Mystic is only good the first time and recurring Snapcaster Mage is too mana intensive and asks you to tap-out. This is not the shell for Lurrus, although is such an amazing card.
  • Dark Confidant: Well... it's not even a staple in Jund anymore. But just to add more reasons: the manabase is painful as fuck and the curve is high with a bunch of 3-drops and Batterskull. We are playing 5-color, we are already getting greatness at any cost.

Other Blue and White cards

Just a list of a couple cards that I didn't add to the deck.
  • Jace, Vryn's Prodigy : Remember the Blue Jund days? Jace is quite good. Provides card advantage, game-ending threat and protects itself. Could see a list dropping Snapcaster Mage to run it since it's just Jund.
  • Lingering Souls: We are a bit low on bodies and the tokens could be a pretty decent target for the equipments, but the 3cmc is just super stacked and Souls is not what it used to be.
  • Jace, the Mind Sculptor: Woah, hold on right there! We are greedy but not that much! Double-pips are not allowed, specially from one of the splash colors. If Jace was 3U, he wouldn't only be a staple here, he would have made White-less Jund the go-to Jund build a while ago.
  • Kambal, Consul of Allocation, Gaddock Teeg: Sometimes I see these cards in Abzan sideboards, so just take them in mind if you want to tweak the list.

Questions

But doesn't this lose to Blood Moon?

Yes. This is for fun. Blood Moon is not fun. We lose. Although I must say that I've won a game casting Gust on Blood Moon and milling it with Ashiok next turn. It was hilarious but that's not a plan . Just lose to Blood Moon.

Are there any advantages of playing this over Jund, Money Tribal or Niv To Light?

No, really. This is a for fun experiment. I'm usually biased about how my decks (specially Jund and D&T) are much better than people claim for them, but I'm being honest here: this is a jank brew and you should not be expecting to win. You'll win games because this is a powerful pile of cards with enough synergy and there are many decks that still lose to these kind of engines (and also, skill and luck matters), but you are going to win more on average with Jund.

A more serious approach: 4C Jund

Now, in all seriousness: while this experiment is hilarious, a bit of the fun goes away when you can't consistently cast your spells. This is a absolutely greedy pile and I while I'm going to bring it to an FNM as soon as I can, I wouldn't be surprised of getting my first 0-4 ever just because my spells couldn't get on time. I have playtested a bit on Xmage (terrible platform to play, but it's quite good to test if your curve and mana is good) and I haven't run into issues, but the sample is so low that it's not even worth debating.
So, if you want to spice things a bit, but you don't want to avoid variance a bit, just cut either white or blue. 4 Color Jund is a feasible deck. Check out how u/FlyingDelver (great work, the best content creator from the BGx community) splashes blue for Oko and how they tweak the manabase in order to keep consistency in this article: https://www.greatnessatanycost.com/bgx-update-december-2019/ .
Wrenn and Six just solves a lot of things when it comes to splashing a color in Jund. 4th color comes with the cost of giving up a bit of utility in the manabase and adding a bit more of life loss, so in a competitive environment it should just be justified: Oko was not only worth splashing, but NEEDED in that megame. It was a join'em or lose to'em, so the benefits of splashing blue overcomed the drawbacks.
Now, think about splashing white or blue right now: to add Stoneforge Mystic and equipments, I've cut from my Jund list 2 Seasoned Pyromancer, 2 Scavenging Ooze and 2 Tireless Tracker. I've swaped bodies, card advantage and utility (and a bit of lifegain) for... bodies, card advantage and utility (and a bit of lifegain). I've got nothing for splashing white and lost some things.
Same goes for splashing blue: Bloodbraid Elf is a 2x1 at 4 mana, Snapcaster Mage is a 2x1 at 3 mana with the added benefit of being instant-speed and the drawback of being graveyard-reliant. Again, the benefits of splashing a color don't overcome the drawbacks.
So, there it goes: splashing a 4th color in Jund is feasible, but the benefit from it is just the spice and fun, and not something that would get you an advantage in gameplay or winrate. So that's why I went full 5-color: if I don't get any real benefit, at least I am going to laugh a lot. But if you just want something fresh to experiment with, 4-color is still spicy enough to give it a try.

Conclusions

Boy, this was longer than expected! I hoped you've enjoyed the reading. Sorry for any grammar or syntax errors since english is not my mother tongue. And I would love to read your thoughts and criticises about this.
