ugh i’m stressing out about this and it’s not good but i need to talk about it somewhere and my therapy session is in like a week so strap in folks-
so i’ve talked about my shitty history teacher before, but this time just makes me hella fucking angry, and i’m normally a very chill person. so we had a ton of homework to do, he links us the resources so we can read and write down what we learned, all good there. the problem is, the readings have NOTHING to do with the work he assigned us. the work he assigned us had to do with what he “taught” about in class, and by taught, i mean it’s him going off for fourty minutes about whatever the hell mercantilism is and not even giving us notes to write down or a slide deck to follow (he said we didn’t have to take notes) and then literally our entire grade depends on this. whatever, the class work didn’t have to be turned it, so i didn’t do it. well, time goes by, and we have an upcoming quiz. no biggie, he actually gave us notes this time so it should be easy. well, the quiz comes knocking on friday’s door and wow! it’s hard! the funny thing is, we had 11 questions, 8 were multiple choice and the answers to all 8 of them were A. thought that was funny, not the point. the 3 written questions, however, were difficult as fuck. god, my heart is pounding just writing about this class. the notes he gave us again had nothing to do with the questions on the quiz, and i spent the rest of class aka twenty minutes trying to answer the first written question. i failed. i thought, eh, it doesn’t say there’s a due date, and he never said it was graded, so i’ll just assume it’s due tonight and i can do it later. well, more time passes and i start my homework at ten, like usual. i get everything done, then comes the quiz. i spent a solid ten minutes trying to answer any of the questions, gave up, and took my tired ass to sleep. i wake up the next morning, and i’m like, alright let’s get crackalackin. i type the first sentence of the first question, then ask my friend for help, then we get distracted. about an hour or two later, i decide to actually get it done. so i open up my chromebook, and my heart drops as i see that the quiz got locked and i got 16/32. well, shit. so, i freaked out, and a night later, i was up until 1 am working on my answers for it, and by the way, all i accomplished was a mental breakdown with the same friend from earlier. so, shit. i went to sleep, too tired to function, and i woke up the next morning, and i have no idea how, but i finished the questions that morning. yay! now, i’ll just explain what happened and email him the document. guess what?! the quiz didn’t fucking matter!! yaaaay!! i’m pissed af. here’s a side note from that night, i’ve always told people shit like “i could break your nose if i didn’t abide by rules” which is definitely true, but i’ve never actually attempted to throw a punch until that night. i didn’t punch a human or anything, but i stood in the bathroom for like ten minutes just punching the air as hard as i can, and it hurt my arm for like two days but worth it. that’s how mad i was! so, fast forward to today, the last day of trimester 1. i get notifications from campus saying my history grade has been updated, and my heart fell even further when it says “F - 56.37%” and now i currently want to kermit non existence. i tell myself, glad the document wasn’t for nothing, i’ll just, again, tell him what happened and hope he’ll let me try again. so, throughout the day, i have random spurts of shaky hands and a heartbeat faster than it could ever live up to in PE, up until our study period, where i go to talk to him. couple side notes, this guy is really chill, an abnormally unhealthy chillness for a teacher, like does this guy even have standards for his class chill, but he seemed real mad when he was going off about how lots of people did terrible on the quiz. now, before my study period, i was like on the verge of tears, texting the same friend whilst waiting for everyone to leave so i can talk to him, and she reassured me, sending lots of calming references to our favorite fandoms, and here we go. he talked to a few other kids, and he came to me back and fourth, and after me explaining threeee times trying to convince him to just let me email my answers, he says yes. sounds great, right? well, like i said, this guy is hella chill, and he has taken almost a week to grade stuff, and this is the last day of the term, so i’m nervous he won’t grade me on time. now, i wouldn’t say i’m a teacher suck up or anything, but i do have a good reputation, “the quiet kid” to be precise, but i always have all As and i’ve never failed a test or gotten an F up until now, so i’m terrified as fuck. so, mr. c., if you for some reason have a reddit account and are scrolling here for whatever reason, everyone i’ve talked to about you says your class is difficult and awful and you suck as a person (why would you have kids if you aren’t responsible enough to care for your dog???) and you make me want to punch something, preferably you :)
